Duane Duim, CFP®
I wear a few different hats at Paracle as a Managing Partner. My primary role is to work together with our team to serve the various financial needs of many families. In addition to that role, I work closely with our leadership team and various colleagues to ensure that we are thinking proactively about the overall needs of the families we serve and ensuring we provide a great overall client experience.
I began working at Paracle in 2011 because the values and vision for the organization were an ideal match for me: putting our client’s needs first, always striving to be better, always thinking ahead to the future, and knowing that creating a fun, vibrant culture is important. It’s also critical to thoroughly understand a family’s values and goals before you can provide any planning or investment advice.
I believe serving others is a calling of mine. I find great satisfaction when I can see the positive impacts that result from serving others. That’s true in all aspects of my life. Whether that’s a family I serve at work, my colleagues, or my friends and family at home. Not every profession allows you to directly impact the lives of others in a positive way. I’m fortunate that’s what I’m able to do every day.
The collective skills, passions and drive of our team is the best part of working at Paracle. It’s unique and special. There’s a deep sense of caring for each other that goes beyond our professional lives. Plus, there’s lots of laughter and we all know to not take ourselves too seriously. We are comfortable enough to be our authentic selves, which is freeing and refreshing.
Honesty is a core value that stands out to me at Paracle. Our entire business is built upon a family entrusting us to help steward their financial lives and invest their money wisely. That’s a really big responsibility. If we don’t approach everything we do with honesty and integrity, we might as well all go home.

Why did you choose your prop?
I was asked by a colleague in 2012 to run a half marathon. I had never run before and thought it was a crazy ask. But, I did it. Fast forward five years, I now run with Team World Vision and lead a large team of others to raise funds in order to bring clean water to those who don’t have access to such a basic need. It’s not about me. Running with others to bring clean water to a child that I will never meet brings me great, great joy.
What else do you do like to do for fun?
I’m a family guy. My wife, two girls and our foster kids help recharge my batteries. I also enjoy running, hiking, walking the dog, watching a movie, and going to dinner. I’m unbelievably blessed that we all enjoy doing life together.
If you could trade places with any person or movie character for a day, who would it be and why?
Michael Jordan on June 14, 1998 (Game 6 of the NBA Finals). I got a lot of splinters riding the pine in high school. Enough said.
