As a Lead Advisor at Paracle, I am the primary point of contact for the families we serve, responsible for maintaining a proactive, ongoing relationship. I help to identify and achieve goals over time. Additionally, I help to coordinate with other trusted Advisors (CPA’s, Attorneys, etc.), ensuring each family we serve feels confident in all aspects of their financial life.

The families that Paracle serves are those that are able to benefit greatly from thoughtful and careful planning, and this provides a great deal of job satisfaction. Our small size and collaborative environment provides professional development opportunities and allows us greater influence on our client service offerings. It was also important to me to find a company with female leadership, as well as ownership opportunities where I could see myself spending the rest of my career.

The most satisfying moment here comes when each family I serve obtains that moment of clarity, and we are able to bring their financial dreams into focus with the realization that their goals are within reach. It is remarkable to witness the visible relief when you lift the weight of doubt and confusion that often surrounds personal finances.

Being a part of the Paracle team keeps me much more active than I may have been otherwise, because of our fun and competitive work environment. I also feel like everyone truly cares about each other, and is considerate of their co-workers time and other commitments in and out of the office.

While honesty is of utmost importance, I think all people of character have this quality, and it should be expected of all Advisors. Where we set ourselves apart is our desire to simplify complex issues. I think some Advisors believe that by offering complex solutions or answers that seem more sophisticated or smart, but being able to simplify things in an already complex world is something our clients highly appreciate. They are busy, and if they can quickly get up to speed on decisions, then we can save them precious time, and in turn we can make them feel more informed and smart about their decisions. I think the beautiful part of simplifying is making our clients feel smart, versus us trying to appear smart to impress our clients.

Outside the Office

Why did you choose your prop?
Golfing is a hobby that I am able to share with my husband, and provides us time to hang out and have quality time as a couple. It is a sport that you can enjoy for your entire life, and yet it is always a challenge. I enjoy challenging myself in life, and that little ball definitely challenges my patience!

What else do you do like to do for fun?
Besides traveling, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two rescue dogs, usually golfing or hiking. I also enjoy pushing myself outside my comfort zone, which has led to me completing the Seattle to Portland bike ride, and an occasional thrill seeking activity such as zip lining, paragliding, and bungee jumping. My Rotary Club is also a big part of my life, providing opportunities to serve my community with a group of fun people who have become dear friends.

If you could trade places with any person or movie character for a day, who would it be and why?
Nelson Mandela – I have always been intrigued by his perseverance, patience, and ability to forgive. He overcame the worst odds and was a champion for peace, equality and democracy. It would be great to see the world through the eyes of a person who was able to maintain such optimism despite all the challenges and indignities that he faced.
